| Scope of Work: | NewMech was “Prime
Contractor” responsible for all work at the site.
A
large food distribution facility was prohibited by the local
municipality from discharging condenser blow down water into their
septic system. They were faced with closing the facility or
converting the system to Freon.
After
exploring
several options, NewMech designed and installed a 15,600 MBH air cooled
condenser field to replace the existing evaporative
condensers.
This allowed the facility to keep the existing ammonia refrigeration
system in place.
Because the plant will
experience higher
operating pressures with the air cooled condensers, the High Pressure
Receiver and two thermosiphon oil coolers needed to be replaced as
well.
Additionally, a new low temperature
recirculator and
a new high temperature recirculator were installed. The
vessels
and pumps were designed match the existing loads and provide additional
future capacity. |
