NewMech Companies Inc. Receives National Recognition for its Safety Performance

Inc., a full service contractor receives national recognition for its safety performance. Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors' National Association (SMACNA), an international trade association representing 4500 contributing contractor firms, names NewMech Companies Inc. one of the top three contractors in the nation to receive the 2006 Safety Excellence Award. Safety data and yearly safety trends are evaluated by SMACNA each year. Only those members of SMACNA that have exemplary safety records and lowest safety incident rates nationwide are given the award.

“Our company continues to provide full EPC construction services throughout the US and Canada safely and effectively. With approximately 200 employees in our home office and up to 1200 employees each day working throughout the US and Canada, safety is of utmost importance to us and to our clients. Our company-wide Experience Modification Rate (EMR) is 0.60; this is 40% below the national US average for all contractors. We also maintain an OSHA Recordable Incident Rate that is two-thirds lower than the national average for other contractors in the United States”, says Tony Condon, Chief Safety Officer at NewMech.
