Scope of Work: Construction of a new effluent disinfection system and building:
• NewMech was the self performing GC hired to decommission the existing hazardous chlorine system and install the new disinfection system within the shutdown limits for water treatment.
• decommissioning of the existing gaseous chlorine and sulfur dioxide systems
• systems were replaced with a sodium hypochlorite (for disinfection) and sodium bisulfate (for de-chlorination) systems
• new Disinfection Building was constructed to house the liquid chemical storage, feed pumps and related equipment
• Modifications of the existing Chlorination Operations Building were needed to house the chlorination system for the RAS and gravity thickener applications.

• On time completion of the project and under budget
