NEWS RELEASE

December 18, 2007--Watertown, SD-- Glacial Lakes Energy, LLC (GLE) officials announced today the expansion of their facility in Watertown, SD was completed late November 2007 and currently they are producing over 100 mgy of ethanol. The expansion was completed a month ahead of schedule and under budget.
GLE’s expansion began April 2007 with GLE serving as the General Contractor. New Mech, Minneapolis, MN and ICM, Inc of Colwich, KS were the design/builder for this project. GLE was the first 40 mgy nameplate Fagen/ICM ethanol facility which has been operational since August of 2002. GLE has been running at the 52+ mgy rate for the past two years.
Tom Branhan, CEO stated “construction went very well this past summer and the start up of the expansion went fairly smooth considering the immense amount of new equipment in our plant and we were actually running the entire plant at 100 MGY rate within three days of startup”.
The NewMech personnel were very conscious of the working plant environment they were in which allowed GLE to continue running at over a 50 MGY rate all through construction with only minimal downtime to tie in the electrical and piping to the old plant.
Branhan also stated “I’m very pleased with our staff at GLE. They were very diligent in assuring this project would be complete on time and under budget. There were several long days and nights for our team and I am proud of the outstanding job we did managing construction and the start up of the expanded facility”.
GLCP is a 4,000+ member cooperative based in Watertown, SD that owns and operates through its wholly-owned subsidiaries a 100 mgy ethanol production facility in Watertown, SD and a 100 mgy ethanol plant currently under construction near Mina, SD. GLE also owns and operates a grain elevator in Madison, MN. GLCP through its Glacial Lakes Energy subsidiary has a significant ownership in Granite Falls Energy and in Redfield Energy, and serves as the manager of Redfield Energy.
